From Toronto, Raven Kanatakta and ShoShona Kish of the band Digging Roots are a dynamic husband and wife team. Their music is genre bending, with hints of blues, roots, alternative, reggae, and hip-hop. The two met at a music festival as students, formed a band in 2005, and won a JUNO award in 2010 for their album We Are. After 4 years of touring, Digging Roots is back with a new album called For the Light. We speak with Raven about the inspiration for the new album.
