Growing up in Red Lake, Ontario, Ojibwe artist Shy-Anne Hovorka has been singing since she was three and performing since age nine. Her latest and fourth release “Bones” continues Shy-Anne’s tradition in country music, yet forges into different styles that include the unique sounds of world music instruments. The album has been described as a “journey”, touching on Indigenous issues such as decolonization.
