Janel Munoa

From the Luiseño Mission in Southern California, singer Janel Munoa brings punk rock and soul influences to her debut album Howls From Deep in the Woods. Since losing her mother at age 17, Janel has found catharsis in singing and songwriting, not shying away from difficult topics like sexism and racism. She collaborates with her husband on Howls From Deep in the Woods, which features Janel’s earthy vocals and compelling insights. Before developing as a musician, she was a visual artist. Janel still incorporates both approaches to her art, passionate about the creative process and putting her work out there.
