Of Lumbee and Oglala heritage, Lakota John and Kin is a family band from Pembroke, North Carolina. Debuting with the self-titled album Lakota John and Kin, their music brings Native American harmonies to familiar blues tunes. Featuring Lakota John, a 17-year-old slide blues guitar player, his sister Layla, Mama Tonya, and Papa John join in on vocals and various instruments including the washboard and violin.
