This week on Indigefi, lead vocalist and guitarist J.J. Otero and engineer Bill Palmer of the band Saving Damsels join us. J.J. grew up singing in church and started the band in 2007. After creating his own solo acoustic material and sharing it with a friend who was inspired to collaborate, the band gained momentum and kept growing. J.J. discusses why the band is self-described as “Native Soul Rock” and gives insight into the development of their latest singles. Saving Damsels’ engineer, Bill, shares his recording technique – keeping things analog and having the band record in one room together live.
